About the player
The move that changed things came only after Rangers. It was there that McPake's career turned. In the 2025–26 season he scored 16 league goals in 33 appearances as St Johnstone won the Scottish Championship, and he finished the campaign as the division's top scorer. The individual recognition followed the team's success. McPake was named SPFL Championship Player of the Month for August 2025, then collected the SPFL Championship Player of the Year award, the PFA Scotland Players' Player of the Year for the Championship, and a place in the PFA Scotland Championship Team of the Year.
