About the player
Jhonatan Paulo da Silva came through the youth ranks at Red Bull Brasil before moving into the Red Bull Bragantino set-up, and his first taste of senior football came on loan at Figueirense in early 2021, where he made 12 appearances and scored once in Série B. He joined Fortaleza in 2022, starting out with the club's Aspirantes side, where he wore the captain's armband and helped the team reach the quarter-finals of the Campeonato Brasileiro de Aspirantes.
Loan spells followed at Operário Ferroviário through 2023 and at Azuriz in the early months of 2024, the latter bringing appearances in the Campeonato Paranaense. He returned to Fortaleza in 2025 before a permanent move to Athletic Club on a free transfer at the start of January 2026.
A right-footed defender who stands 186 cm tall, he now wears the number 3 shirt at his new club.
