Lucas Ferreira

Lucas Ferreira's path to professional football began at Americano FC in his hometown of Campos dos Goytacazes, where he started organised football at the age of six. At eleven he moved to Flamengo, spending three seasons in the academy before a short stint at Boavista. He then joined the São Paulo youth setup in Cotia in 2021, working his way through the U17 and U20 categories. The 2024 season stood out: 51 appearances for the Sub-20 side, 19 goals and 8 assists, and a Copa do Brasil U20 title, followed by the 2025 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior with the same group of players.

His first-team debut for São Paulo came in January 2025, and within the year he had featured across the Brazilian Serie A, the Copa Libertadores, the Copa do Brasil and the Campeonato Paulista, scoring in the Libertadores along the way. In August 2025 Shakhtar Donetsk paid an initial €10 million, with add-ons that could take the fee to €12 million, for a midfielder they signed until 2030.

At Shakhtar he made 16 appearances in the Ukrainian Premier League with two goals and an assist, adding further games in the Ukrainian Cup and reaching double figures in the UEFA Europa Conference League. The club went on to win the league title, while also reaching the cup's Round of 16 and the Conference League semi-finals. In August 2025, Ramon Menezes called him into Brazil's U-20 squad for the final preparations before the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, where he was included among the 26 players named for the tournament.
