Oleh Ocheretko

Oleh Ocheretko came through Shakhtar Donetsk's own academy, signing his first professional contract with the club in 2020. Rather than pushing straight into the first team, he was sent out to gain experience, spending nearly two years on loan at FC Mariupol, where he made 27 league appearances and scored twice.

Further loan spells followed. A short stint at SC Dnipro-1 in the 2023–24 season brought 13 league games and a goal, before a fuller season at FC Karpaty Lviv in 2024–25 gave him his heaviest workload yet: 28 appearances across the league and cup, three goals and two assists. Ocheretko missed out on Shakhtar's Ukrainian Cup win in 2024–25 while out on that loan, but he had already collected two Premier League titles and a domestic cup with the club during his time on the books, in 2022–23 and 2023–24.

His progress was rewarded in November 2025, when he signed a contract extension with Shakhtar running to the end of 2030. By then he had also broken into the senior Ukraine squad, adding to a run of youth caps that had taken him through the U16, U17, U19, U21 and U23 sides. His first senior goal came in October 2025, in a 2026 World Cup qualifier away to Iceland that Ukraine won 5–3 in Reykjavik.

Ocheretko returned to a Shakhtar side that, in 2024–25, finished third in the league.
