Martin Šviderský

Twice, Šviderský's knee has taken the decision out of his hands. He arrived at Manchester United's academy in 2018 as a teenager from Vranov nad Topľou, only for an anterior cruciate ligament injury to push his under-18 debut back to October 2019. He signed his first professional contract in February 2020 and spent his United years mostly with the under-23 and under-21 sides, picking up the club's 'Scholar of the Year' award at under-18 level in 2021. In June 2022, with his name still on United's retained list, he announced on social media that he was leaving, and departed as a free agent the following month.

He joined UD Almería's B team and had barely established himself there when, in late April 2023, a match against El Palo FC ended with an anterior cruciate ligament injury. Surgery in Madrid kept him out for roughly seven months. He returned in November 2023 and spent the second half of that season on loan at Real Murcia in the Primera Federación, making nine appearances and scoring his first notable senior goal. His Almería contract ran out in August 2025, and he then signed for 1. FC Slovácko as a free agent, also turning out for the club's B side.

At international level, Šviderský scored once in two appearances for Slovakia's under-17s in 2018 and went on to earn eight caps for the under-21s, including matches in UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying. In November 2022, national coach Francesco Calzona called him into a senior training camp, though he has not yet made his senior debut.
