Mathias Laustrup Kristensen

Mathias Laustrup Kristensen moved abroad for the first time in January 2025, when Aalesund signed him from Hobro IK. Danish media, including Tipsbladet and Bold.dk, put the fee at around 2 million Danish kroner. He signed a three-year contract with the Norwegian club, running to the end of 2027. With Aalesund, he was part of the squad that secured promotion to the Eliteserien through the playoffs in his first year at the club.

Kristensen came through the youth ranks at Esbjerg fB, where he made his senior debut in 2016, and won the Danish U19 championship with the club in 2017. He stayed at Esbjerg until the summer of 2021, when he signed for FC Fredericia on a free transfer. Two years later, in July 2023, he moved on again, joining Hobro IK on a free transfer with a contract until June 2026. He settled quickly at Hobro, making 51 appearances and scoring 4 goals across all competitions during his time there, including 32 appearances and 3 goals in the 2023–24 season alone.

At youth international level, Kristensen represented Denmark from the age of fifteen, collecting caps for the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 sides between 2012 and 2019, with 11 appearances for the U17s his most capped spell. He has not yet featured for the senior Danish national team.
