About the player
Przemysław Banaszak arrived at Śląsk Wrocław in July 2025, choosing instead to activate his release clause at Górnik Łęczna for around 250,000 złoty and sign until June 2027. The move followed a season in which the forward had scored 15 goals in 33 appearances for Górnik in the 2024–25 I Liga campaign.
Szczebrzeszyn-born, Banaszak took a winding route through Polish football's lower tiers before that breakthrough. He started out at Hetman Żółkiewka, winning the IV Liga Lublin title in 2013–14, then moved to Chełmianka Chełm in 2016, where he again won the regional league and finished as top scorer of III Liga Group IV in 2017–18. A step up to Widzew Łódź followed in 2018, and a loan to Górnik Łęczna the following year led to a permanent transfer in 2020, with Górnik winning promotion via the II Liga title that same season.
In July 2022 Banaszak took an unusual path abroad, joining Pakhtakor Tashkent and becoming the first Polish player to appear in the Uzbekistan Super League. He won back-to-back league titles there in 2022 and 2023, scoring five goals in 21 appearances, before returning to Górnik Łęczna in June 2024 for the scoring run that earned him his move to Wrocław.
At Śląsk, wearing number 19, he has kept up that output, reaching 18 goals in 34 appearances for the club. He has yet to be called up by Poland at any level.
