Pascal Loretz

Pascal Loretz came through FC Kriens before joining the FC Luzern academy in 2014, and it was with Luzern's reserves that he first made his mark, helping the U21 side win promotion to the Promotion League in 2022. He signed his first professional contract with Luzern in June 2021, though it took until February 2023 for his senior debut to arrive. Once he did break through, he moved quickly: by June 2023 he was the club's starting goalkeeper, and two months later he was named Swiss Super League Player of the Month for August 2023.

Loretz went on to make 121 league appearances for Luzern's first team. His performances also drew the attention of the Swiss youth set-ups, where he collected four caps for the U19s in 2021 and six for the U21s across 2023 and 2024. He was called up to the senior national squad for friendlies against Estonia in June 2024 and again in March 2025, without adding a first senior cap on either occasion.

In July 2026, Loretz left Luzern for Hannover 96 in Germany's 2. Bundesliga, signing a contract running until June 2030. The deal was reported at around €1.1 million, with add-ons that could push the total to €1.4 million, at a time when his market value was estimated between €2.0 and €2.2 million. Hannover's sporting director, Ralf Becker, pointed to the goalkeeper's clear wish to join the club and to Hannover's improved financial position as the factors that made the transfer possible.
