About the player
Rubens came through the Botafogo academy before making his senior debut for the club in 2020. His development ran in parallel across two clubs: alongside his Botafogo spells either side of a season at Red Bull Bragantino, he spent time at Atlético Mineiro, where he won the Copa do Brasil and collected five Campeonato Mineiro titles.
A left-footed left-back, Rubens moved to Dynamo Moscow in the summer of 2025 on a five-year contract running until June 2030. The fee, reported at around €9 million with a further €3 million in add-ons.
At Dynamo he wears the number 8 shirt. Some club listings have described him as a midfielder, but the position he has actually played, both in Brazil and in the assessments of the main football databases, is left-back.
