Yuto Iwasaki

Iwasaki has spent his career largely on the move, before finally settling at Avispa Fukuoka and now V-Varen Nagasaki. He came through the youth ranks at Kaneshiro JFC and the JFA Academy Fukushima before Kyoto Tachibana High School, then began his senior career at Kyoto Sanga in 2017. A move to Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo followed in 2019, but the next three years were defined by loan spells away from the club: Shonan Bellmare in 2020, JEF United Chiba in 2021, and Sagan Tosu across 2021 and 2022, where the loan turned into a permanent transfer in 2023.

Fukuoka won a bidding war for Iwasaki in December 2023, with reports at the time saying up to seven clubs had pursued him and Sports Nippon putting the fee in the region of 100 million yen, though the club never confirmed an official figure. He made his 200th J.League appearance while at Avispa, on 25 May 2024, before agreeing to join V-Varen Nagasaki in December 2025 following their promotion to J1.

Internationally, Iwasaki has represented Japan across several youth age groups and reached the senior national team, with whom he won the EAFF E-1 Football Championship in 2022. Earlier in his career he took a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Games with the Japan under-23 side and a bronze at the 2016 AFC U-19 Championship.
