AC Douane

The most recent Mauritanian Cup came at the cost of penalties: a 1-1 draw with ASC Gendrim in the 2025 final settled 3-2 from the spot, the third time AC Douane had lifted the trophy since AS Amicale Douane first won it in 1987, then again in 1991. The Super D1 title has never followed; the closest the club came was finishing runners-up in the 2023-24 season, four decades after the customs authority in Nouakchott put its name to the team.

Promotion back to the top flight arrived in 2021, via the Super D2 playoffs, and the club built on it quickly enough to reach a first continental campaign: the 2023-24 CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers ended at the first hurdle, eliminated by Guinea's Académie SOAR on away goals after the tie finished 2-2 on aggregate.

The customs affiliation gave the club its nickname, Les Douaniers, and has fed the national team more than once — Beyatt Lekweiry left for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations as the youngest player in the tournament, while Hemeya Tanjy has captained and top-scored for Mauritania. Both wore the green and white before the honours list grew to three.

Nouakchott's own derby belongs to Inter Nouakchott and Nouakchott King's, not to AS Douanes, which leaves the club's fiercest meetings defined less by tradition than by table position — trips across the capital to face AS Garde Nationale and Chemal FC carry the weight instead, two more clubs drawing on the city's institutions for their name and their support.
