Apolloon Kortrijk sit in Belgian Men's Division 1, the country's top flight, a level they have held since joining for the 2018/2019 season.

Silverware has not come easily. Apolloon's closest brush with a trophy came in the 2016/2017 Belgian Cup, where they reached the semi-finals before falling short, still the high point of the club's cup record. In the league, a first-place finish in the Division 1 play-offs stands out on the record, though the club has never been placed among the sport's long-term champions, a group of clubs such as Initia Hasselt that have made a habit of the title over decades.

Kortrijk itself is not a city associated with Belgian handball success in the way Hasselt or Tongeren are, which makes Apolloon's steady presence in the top division, without the backing of a historic trophy haul, the more notable part of its story.
