Ellas Syros

The Dimotiko Stadio Ermoupolis holds 2,500 people, a size that suited a club that spent most of its life fighting for island bragging rights rather than national ones. Ellas Syros grew out of Ermoupolis in 1929, though the Hellenic Football Federation only put its name on the books in 1946, under the old title Progressive Association of Fans Ellas. The nickname that stuck, "Ta Kala Paidia" — the Good Boys — dates from those post-war years, when the club built its name on how it played rather than what it won.

For decades what it won stayed local: six Cyclades FCA First Division titles between 1987 and 2023, two Cyclades FCA Cups, a runner-up finish in the 2007 Cyclades Cup. Respectable weight on Syros, invisible everywhere else. That changed in the 2024–25 season, when Ellas Syros took the Gamma Ethniki group and, with it, promotion to Super League 2 for the first time in the club's history — a step onto the mainland pyramid that nothing in the club's first ninety-odd years had managed.

Giannis Fetfatzidis wore the shirt in the 2013–14 season, a name that meant more elsewhere than it did in Ermoupolis at the time. The rivalry that actually shapes the calendar is with Pannaxiakos of Naxos, the derby that never needed a table to matter, though lately the sharper meetings have come against PAS Korinthos, both clubs chasing the same promotion spot in Gamma Ethniki.
