FC Santa Coloma

FC Santa Coloma sits at the top of the Andorran table it has dominated for three decades. Getting back on top remains the job in front of it.

The club grew out of a group of football enthusiasts in Andorra la Vella in 1986, and for most of its history it wore all blue, which is where the nickname "The Blues" came from before "Colomencs" took over as the everyday name. Home matches are played in front of just 1,249 seats, a small enough ground that a full house feels close.

No other Andorran side comes close to its trophy count: 13 league titles, ten wins in the Copa Constitució and seven Supercopa Andorranas. The club sits in a category of its own domestically.

Europe gave the club its one moment of real historical weight. In the 2007–08 UEFA Cup, captain Juli Fernández scored the only goal in a home win over Maccabi Tel Aviv, the first European victory by any Andorran club. Goalkeeper Eloy Casals added a stranger footnote in 2014–15, scoring in the 94th minute against FC Banants to send Santa Coloma through on away goals.

Domestically, the fixtures that matter most are El Clàssic against UE Sant Julià and the Derbi Colomenc against neighbours UE Santa Coloma. With a youth pipeline now tied to Villarreal's academy, the club has a pathway to the next generation.
