Győri ETO

The rink at Nagysándor József utca 52 belongs to the university and seats 560, with room for another 640 standing. When Győri ETO left the top flight in 2006, it cited money and the lack of a proper indoor arena. The ice hockey section had been revived in 1992 from the old sports club, which had played as Győri Vasas in the 1950s and later as Győri Vagongyár ETO. After 2006 it put its effort into youth development.

The club's own account has it winning the top-tier OB I title in 2001. Some sources credit that title to Alba Volán-FeVita of Székesfehérvár, so the claim is contested. What is not in dispute is that Győr spent the following years outside the elite before coming back. In 2021–22 the side returned to the top flight, now the Erste Liga.

The second tier, the Andersen Liga, is where the club has won most recently. It took the title in 1999, then again in 2023–24 and 2024–25. Győr won it 4-3.

Two former internationals run the side. Balázs Ladányi, the head coach, played 227 times for Hungary. Levente Szuper, the technical director, was a national-team goaltender whom the Calgary Flames drafted.

The Erste Liga title is the one they have yet to win since coming back.
