Karvan

Yevlakh City Stadium holds five thousand people, a size that matches a club whose history has run in short, broken spells rather than one long line. Karvan plays there because Yevlakh has never had reason to build bigger: the ground has followed the team through its collapses and returns rather than the other way round.

The current club dates to June 2004, though a side called Avtomobilchi had already carried Yevlakh's colours through the early 1990s before folding. Karvan's own run has been no steadier. Financial trouble broke the club apart in 2012, straight after relegation; it came back in 2013, folded again in 2014 for the same reason, and stayed dormant until a revival for the 2021–22 season, when it took the fuller name FK Karvan-Yevlakh. Promotion back to the Azerbaijan Premier League followed in 2025 .

None of that later struggle matches what the club managed in the mid-2000s. Karvan finished as runners-up in the Premier League in 2005–06 and reached the Azerbaijan Cup final the same season, losing 2–1 to Karabakh. The league placing sent them into the UEFA Cup, where they got as far as the second qualifying round, the club's only run in European competition. Yunis Hüseynov coached the side through that period, and Rashad Sadiqov, who came through at Karvan before moving on to Neftchi Baku and Karabakh, later returned to management having started there as a player.

The nickname "Qara-Ağlar," the Black and Whites, comes straight from the kit; supporters also call the team "Dəvələr," the Camels, after what "Karvan" itself means.
