Lazne Kynzvart Women

The West Bohemian derby against DHC Plzeň gives Házená Kynžvart its sharpest fixture, and Baník Most has become the other regular obstacle between them and a title, both clubs chasing the same handful of places at the top of the MOL Liga.

The club grew out of a section of the sports society TJ Sokol Lázně Kynžvart in 1970, in a spa town in the Cheb District that gives no obvious hint of a top-flight handball side. It took until the 2021–22 season for the step up to the MOL Liga, the joint Czech-Slovak competition, to arrive. Since then the results have climbed steadily rather than arrived all at once: fourth place in the league in 2022, 2024 and 2025, then a bronze medal in 2026. Domestically the pattern has been even tighter — runners-up in the Czech Extraliga in 2024 and 2026, with a bronze squeezed between them in 2025, and three consecutive Czech Cup finals lost, in 2022, 2024 and 2025.

Europe has gone further than the trophy cabinet suggests it should: a semi-final run in the EHF European Cup in 2024–25, followed by a quarter-final the following season. Montenegrin back Marija Božović, who signed in 2022, has been central to that run, while goalkeeper Sabrina Novotná left for Metz Handball in 2025, a departure that marked how far the club's reputation had travelled beyond the Karlovy Vary Region. Katka Dresslerová captains the side from the line-player position, and coach Peter Sabadka has leaned on the academy, handing first-team places to graduates including Andrea Buchtová, Markéta Königová and Claudia Rampová for 2025–26.

Matches are played in front of eighty spectators at the Sportovní hala Milana Prokeše, a capacity that keeps the club's scale in view even as its results push it toward the continent's second tier. A national title, and a Czech Cup that stops being lost, remain the two lines still missing from the record.
