On Gajdošova street, in Ostrava's Mariánské Hory district, the MS Aréna Academy holds everything the club runs — from its youngest squads up to the senior men's side — in one hall built around a programme that leans far more on teenagers than on a first team chasing trophies.

The senior club operates as a non-profit, MS Basketball Academy z. s., but its roots reach back before that paperwork: a side under the name BK Snakes Ostrava was already playing in national competition in the 2003/2004 season, long before the commercial entity MS Academy s.r.o. was registered in December 2022 with Igor Jemilev as sole shareholder.

In senior basketball, MS Academy sits in the second tier, the 1. Liga mužů, lined up in the East group for 2026/2027. Cup runs have tended to end early — in the 2025 Czech Cup, the team paid for a sloppy finish and went out in the second round, losing 80-83 to Sokol Karviná.

The academy's real strength shows at under-17 level. MS Academy Ostrava B won the Celostátní liga U17M in both 2023/2024 and 2024/2025, then had to settle for second place the following season, and the same group now competes in the EYBL's Central Europe division. Marek Stuchlý, who organises and coaches that age group, has been the constant behind the run.

None of it has carried over to the senior side: MS Academy has never won the 1. Liga mužů or reached a Czech Cup final, and it still gets by without an official website, running instead through the Czech Basketball Federation's platform and social media.
