MTK Budapest Women

Handball at MTK traces back to Kelenföldi Goldberger, whose players moved across in 1955 to form the section under the multi-sport club's colours, though a women's side had already worn MTK blue and white as early as 1946. What the club inherited was not silverware but a name still carrying weight from Budapesti Vörös Meteor, the predecessor that had taken the Nemzeti Bajnokság I title in 1952 — a championship MTK Budapest itself, under that name, has never repeated.

The closest it came to a trophy since was the 1955–56 Magyar Kupa, lost 7–5 to Bp. Szikra in the final.

Vladimir Golovin held the bench longest, from 2015 to 2021, before the coaching seat turned over several times in quick succession; dr. Péter Woth has led the team since 2024. Among the players to pass through, Szandra Szöllősi-Zácsik spent two seasons at the club before moving on in 2021.

Home games are played at the Riz Levente Sport- és Rendezvényközpont, a hall of some 1,500 seats that replaced the old Elektromos Sportcsarnok, in a city where the derby still means more than the league table.
