One Knoxville

Drew McKenna set out to build Knoxville a professional side, and he started carefully: the project was first floated under the working name Knox Pro Soccer before settling on the name One Knoxville Sporting Club on 15 July 2021. The club spent its first season, 2022, in USL League Two, where it won the South Central division and reached the conference final of the play-offs. Mark McKeever, hired in January 2021, was the man who took that first team through it before departing at season's end.

The step up came in 2023, when One Knoxville joined the professional ranks of USL League One. Ian Fuller arrived in December 2024, having worked as an assistant at Minnesota United in MLS, and it was under him that the club's breakthrough season took shape: in 2025 One Knoxville won the League One regular season to claim the Players' Shield, then beat Spokane Velocity FC 2-0 to take the play-off title. In the US Open Cup the Scruffs went further than before, reaching the round of 32.

A women's team joined the club in 2025, playing in the USL W-League under Simon Duffy, and improved from seventh place that year to fourth in 2026. The men's team plays its home matches at Regal Soccer Stadium on Tennessee Avenue, a ground that holds 3,000.
