Tomislav

In the summer of 1991 Tomislav reached the last 32 of the Yugoslav Cup and drew Rad of Belgrade. The tie never finished. With the visitors 4-0 up the match was abandoned, and the scoreline stands in the record as it was when play stopped. It was the furthest the club from Tomislavgrad had gone in the competition, and by the following season the competition itself had ceased to exist for them.

What came before that cup run was the reason they were in it at all: the 1990/91 title in the Herzegovina zone.

The wars that followed rearranged the map of Bosnian football, and Tomislav spent the 1990s in the leagues of Herceg-Bosna. In 1993/94 they finished second in the Herzegovina group of the top division, level on points with Široki Brijeg and beaten on the head-to-head. In 2000/01 a play-off against Mladost of Domaljevac took them up into the First League of the Federation.

They then dropped out of it and stayed out for 17 years.

Home is the Gradski stadion Tomislav, which holds 2,000. The colours are blue and white, though the first side to wear anything at all wore white shirts and black trousers.

That first side was assembled on 30 April 1920, at a meeting held in a pub belonging to Ilija Zrno Čokrlj. In 1927 the Kingdom of Yugoslavia forced it off the club, which played for a time as Vran before taking the old name back.
