Little Caesars Arena
Detroit, United States
Formerly: Detroit Events Center (planning name)
The project was led by the firm HOK, known for its work on large-scale venues, and the structural engineering was handled by Magnusson Klemencic Associates.
The arena sits at 2645 Woodward Avenue, the address of the new quarter. It was built to house two teams: the Red Wings of the National Hockey League and the Detroit Pistons of the National Basketball Association. The facilities have two surfaces, ice and hardwood, and a mechanical system to convert one into the other.
Before that, the site was known as the Detroit Events Center during its planning stages, but the official name has remained Little Caesars Arena since the doors opened. The arena quickly hosted major events, including the WWE Hell in a Cell event on October 8, 2017, and the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 2019.
