TD Station
Saint John, Canada
Formerly: Harbour Station
The ground sits on land that was formerly the site of Saint John's Union Station, which was demolished in the early 1970s. Construction began in the summer of 1992, and the venue opened on October 2, 1993, with a sold-out concert by Cabaret. It was originally named Harbour Station to reflect its location on land part of the Saint John Harbour and near the former railway terminal. In August 2019, following a naming rights agreement with the Toronto-Dominion Bank, it was renamed TD Station.
The arena serves as the home venue for the Saint John Sea Dogs of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), who have played there since 2005. The venue hosted the 2011 Memorial Cup (total attendance 48,248) and the 2022 Memorial Cup (total attendance 41,087; Sea Dogs won the tournament). Significant renovations occurred prior to the 2005–2006 season to accommodate the Sea Dogs, adding seating and 13 luxury sky boxes. In 2010, a new wide-screen HD video board was installed.
The capacity varies by event: it is approximately 6,300–6,308 for QMJHL hockey games and can reach up to 8,000–8,100 for concerts. The playing surface is natural ice. The arena also hosts figure skating and curling championships, as well as concerts.
