Saryer secured a 2-1 victory over Antalyaspor at Antalya Stadium in the fourth matchday of the 1. Lig regular season on Thursday evening. The away side took a penalty through Batuhan Kör after Güray Vural's red card and sealed the result with Furkan Gedik's late strike.
Antalyaspor led 1-0 at the break through Ensar Bugra Tivsiz, who finished a move in the 45th minute. The hosts controlled possession at 52 per cent but could only muster two shots on target in the first half. Sander van de Streek and André Poko came on together at the interval as Antalyaspor sought more energy.
The turning point arrived within twelve minutes of the restart. Güray Vural picked up a second yellow card in the 61st minute for a foul on Batuhan Kör, who converted the spot-kick himself. Antalyaspor were now playing with ten men and Saryer could feel the momentum shifting.
Furkan Gedik made no mistake when the opportunity came. He finished low into the corner from inside the box in the 81st minute, capitalising on a defensive error after Antalyaspor had failed to clear their lines properly. The goal ended a clean-sheet run for the hosts that had lasted from the opening day.
Antalyaspor pushed for an equaliser but Saryer's defence held firm. The visitors registered three shots on target against the hosts' two, and while Antalyaspor generated more attacks at 114 to 82, the quality of chances told against them.
The result leaves Antalyaspor rooted to 17th place with three points from four games, having failed to win since that 2-1 victory over Tikvesh in July. Saryer move up to sixth with seven points, extending a run of two wins and a draw in their last three fixtures.
