Clermont and Dijon played out a 1:1 draw in Ligue 2's third round on Thursday evening. Both sides had been winless in their opening fixtures, making this shared point a small mercy for each.
Clubs sat 14th and 17th respectively before kick-off, each carrying a light points tally and a recent run of draws and defeats. Clermont's last five matches produced one win and four non-results, while Dijon's record showed three draws and two losses across the same span.
The match remained quiet until the closing stages. Lenny Lacroix picked up a yellow card in the 59th minute, and a series of substitutions began shortly after, with both managers searching for something different as the clock ran down.
Then came the flurry. J. Marie struck for Clermont in the 90th minute, only for J. Nyindong Tsamouna to answer for Dijon almost immediately. A second goal from the same player in 90+1 changed the complexion entirely, though the official result was recorded as 1:1.
Dijon dominated possession at 61 per cent and completed 603 passes compared to Clermont's 391. The visitors also registered six shots on target to their hosts' two, though accuracy remained modest at 33 per cent and 25 per cent respectively.
Both teams finished with two yellow cards each. The substitutions told a story of late urgency—Dijon brought on four players including Lembezat and Aka, while Clermont introduced Bouchenna and Aka among others as they searched for an equaliser.
The result keeps both sides in the lower half of the table. Clermont move to five points, Dijon to five as well, though the gap at the top remains wide and neither side has yet found the winning touch.
