M. Alfonso was shown a red card in the 69th minute, compounding the hosts' problems. H. Ojeda added his second goal in the 58th minute to put the result beyond doubt before the sending-off. To be fair, Cristóbal Colón never really threatened to mount a comeback.
The result ends a run of poor form for the hosts, who have lost three of their last five matches including a heavy 5:0 defeat to Nacional Asunción. Olimpia come into the next round having won two of their last five, with that 4:1 loss to Vasco da Gama standing out as their heaviest result.
