MKK-Dnepr take three points from Brest
MKK-Dnepr came to Brest and walked away with a 3:1 victory in the Premier League's regular season. The visitors were already third on the table with 35 points from 16 games, while Dinamo Brest sat sixth with 31 points after 19 matches. By then it was clear this would be a day where the away side took control.
Egor Kortsov gave the hosts a surprise lead in the 26th minute, and the home fans had reason to celebrate. But the away side responded quickly. Radivoj Bosić equalised just 21 minutes later, in the 47th minute, and the momentum shifted. And here's the thing — you can see it in the shots. Dinamo Brest managed two on target all day, while MKK-Dnepr hit three.
MKK-Dnepr did not stop at a draw. Valeri Gromyko added a second goal in the 56th minute to put the visitors ahead for good. The home side had possession of 42 per cent but could not create much beyond Kortsov's strike. MKK-Dnepr enjoyed 58 per cent and won eight corners to Brest's three.
Bassekou Diabate sealed the result in the 86th minute, and the visitors finished strongly. Dinamo Brest made five substitutions during the match, including bringing on Dusan Bakic for Zarko Popovic in the 64th minute. MKK-Dnepr pulled off four changes, with Yan Skibsky replacing Silas Gnaka at half-time.
The yellow cards told a story of frustration on both sides. Dinamo Brest saw three bookings — Popovic, Bocherov and Sokolinskiy — while MKK-Dnepr received two through Gnaka and Yuzepchuk. The home side registered six shots off target and two on target, while the visitors recorded five off target and three on target.
It was a match decided in three or four moments, as matches often are. Kortsov's opener was followed by Bosić's equaliser, Gromyko's second and Diabate's closer. Dinamo Brest had more games but fewer points than MKK-Dnepr, and this result widened the gap.
MKK-Dnepr remain third with 35 points from 16 games, one defeat in their record. Dinamo Brest stay sixth with 31 points from 19 fixtures, nine wins and six losses. The visitors had been unbeaten in five before this match, winning three and drawing two, and they extended that run.
