MKK-Dnepr

Somewhere along the way, the club now filed in most records as MKK-Dnepr stopped being a club anyone in Rogachev would recognise. In 2025 it left the Gomel region town where it had played for decades and resurfaced in Vitebsk, competing that season in the Belarusian Premier League and working its way into UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying under yet another name, ML Vitebsk.

The operation traces back to a factory amateur side founded in Rogachev on 12 April 1971; it turned professional in 1983, entering the Soviet championship as Avtomobilist. The name did not last. Avtomobilist gave way to KSM, then to Dnepr, then to Rogachev and back to Dnepr again, and in 2007 a local sponsor, the Rogachev Milk-Canning Combine, put its initials on the shirt: the club played as RMKK, then from 2014 to 2016 as MKK-Dnepr — the version still attached to it in older databases, two names and one relocation out of date. Dnepr returned once more, then Maksline, before Vitebsk.

Colours shifted with the names. Through the MKK years the team wore white and dark blue, breaking from the green and yellow that ran through most of its time as Dnepr and Maksline. The trophy cabinet, meanwhile, stayed empty through all of it — no Premier League title, no Belarusian Cup, no Super Cup, and no European football until the move to Vitebsk.

That is what makes the run into continental qualifying worth noting on its own. It also puts the club on the same fixture list as FC Dnepr Mogilev, a separate side entirely, with its own history and a championship won at the Spartak Stadium in 1998. The two are tied by nothing but a shared name that keeps landing in the wrong file — and now, occasionally, by a result on the pitch.
