Copenhagen beat Nordsjælland 2-0 in the Superliga on Wednesday evening at Parken Stadium. The hosts moved clear at the top after a result that kept them two points ahead of their visitors. The match was part of the regular season sixth round and ended with the home side's lead intact.
Robert Silva opened the scoring in the eighth minute and Alex Král doubled the advantage just after half-time. The visitors never threatened to recover and Copenhagen saw out the game without conceding. A flurry of yellow cards around the hour mark showed the growing frustration, with four bookings in as many minutes.
Substitutions came thick and fast after the break. Andreas Cornelius, Mads Emil Madsen and Villum Berthelsen were replaced before the interval. Alexander Lind, Nicklas Rojkjaer, Robert Silva, Ibrahim Adel, Runar Robinsonn Norheim, Marcos López and Alex Král all made appearances in the second half.
Copenhagen held just 38 per cent possession but managed 7 shots on target compared to Nordsjælland's 1. The visitors created no big chances despite 98 attacks and 62 per cent of the ball. Their shooting accuracy was 10 per cent, while the hosts landed a third of their efforts on target.
The result keeps Copenhagen top of the Superliga on 15 points from six games. Nordsjælland remain fourth with 13 points and have now lost once in six matches. The gap at the top stays at two points with both sides having played the same number of fixtures.
