Radnički Kragujevac claimed a narrow victory away at Partizan in the Super Liga's fifth round, winning 1-0 on Sunday evening. The result keeps them in sixth place while Partizan remain in eleventh, seven points adrift after six league games.
Uroš Sremčević gave the visitors the lead just before half-time, slotting home in the forty-fifth minute. By then Partizan had already been reduced to ten men following Hassan Hilu's dismissal in the thirty-third, and the numerical advantage never quite disappeared from their minds.
Partizan threw everything at the game after the break, bringing on four players at the sixtieth minute alone. They won eleven corners and registered seven shots on target, but created nothing in the way of clear-cut opportunities. Radnički managed only two shots on target themselves, though they did produce one big chance.
Partizan held 63 per cent of possession and completed 374 passes, yet the statistics tell only part of the story. They had 24 attempts at goal, 17 of them off target, while Radnički played with far less possession and fewer attacks yet still saw the game out without conceding.
The result extends Radnički's advantage over Partizan in the table to three points. The visitors sit on ten points from six matches, while the hosts have only seven after two wins, a draw and three defeats.
