Kuresaare edged Laagri 3:2 in Meistriliiga Regular Season round 22 on Friday evening. The hosts claimed all three points despite a late surge from the visitors, who pushed hard for an equaliser. The result leaves Kuresaare on 28 points in ninth place and Laagri on 31 points in seventh.
T. Jurisoo opened the scoring just before half-time, slotting home at 45+2 to give the home side a narrow advantage. Laagri responded well after the break, with M. Kesa finding the net at 58 minutes to level the contest. That goal shifted the momentum, and by then Kuresaare were under pressure to respond.
A. Kose pulled the visitors ahead at 70 minutes, catching the home defence off guard. It looked like Laagri might take something back to Tallinn, but Kuresaare refused to yield. A. Kivi restored parity at the death, scoring in the 90th minute to keep his side in the match.
Laagri threw everything forward in the closing stages, and their persistence was rewarded. J. Vahermagi found space in the box at 90+6, heading in to snatch a point that would have saved face for the away side. The stadium fell silent as the final whistle blew, and the match ended as a draw on 5-5 goals.
Kuresaare's recent form has been inconsistent, having lost 0:1 to Paide in their previous outing. Laagri came into this fixture after an 8:0 victory over Ra Sportskuul, but that run of confidence stalled here. The result means both sides remain in the lower half of the table, with six points separating them.
