Lida edged Niva 3:2 in the First League's regular season round 21 on Saturday 23 August. The home side took an early lead through D. Vashkevich, who struck three times in the opening eight minutes, before I. Tymonyuk and P. Pampukha kept Niva in contention.
By then the visitors had pulled one back through Tymonyuk in the 21st minute, and V. Milyutin restored Lida's advantage in the 38th. The second half saw both sides make changes, with Niva bringing on M. Gordeychuk and A. Salygo alongside D. Galuza, while Lida introduced A. Chernodarov for Z. Dyatlov in the closing stages.
Discipline was tight throughout, with five yellow cards on show. Z. Dyatlov collected two in quick succession before half-time, while A. Chernodarov, M. Druchik and R. Kozel each received a caution. The late goal from Pampukha in the 90th minute meant Niva could not find an equaliser.
Before kick-off Niva sat top of the table on 45 points from 22 games, one ahead of Lida on 42. The result leaves the visitors still in first place with 46 points, while Lida move up to 45 — just one point off the leaders with a game in hand on neither side.
