Medź Legnica saw off Arka Gdynia 2-0 in the fifth round of the First League on Saturday. The home side took all three points at their own ground, extending their unbeaten run and keeping pace at the top of the table.
K. Antonik opened the scoring in the 16th minute, and that proved to be enough for now. The striker ended a barren spell with a goal that set the tone for the afternoon. By then, the visitors were already on the back foot, and they never quite found their rhythm.
Antonik doubled the lead in stoppage time, adding a second goal at 90+4 to seal the result. Two yellow cards for D. Kun, Z. Petrovic and S. Szota marked the wider pattern of the game. There were plenty of substitutions as both sides tried to shift momentum, but the scoreline held firm.

Medź Legnica, with just 34 per cent of the ball, delivered 45 attacks and managed to find the net twice. To be fair, the away side had more corners and throw-ins, but the chances went begging.
The result keeps Medź Legnica top of the First League with 13 points from six games, while Arka Gdynia remain fifth on 10 points. The home side have nothing to lose in these games, and by then they had already made sure of their position. The table goes out of the window in these fixtures, but Medź Legnica have proven they can deliver when it matters.
