Nykøbing extend unbeaten run with comfortable win over B 93
Nykøbing saw off B 93 4-0 in the second division, Group 1, on Thursday evening to go top of the table on goal difference. The hosts had already beaten the visitors 2-0 just ten days ago, and this time they made life look even simpler. To be fair, B 93 never really found a rhythm after the first half, and that was the story of the afternoon.
And here's the thing about the opening twenty-five minutes — you could see the pattern forming straight away. M. Dahl opened the scoring in the twenty-fifth minute, then M. Bottker doubled the lead six minutes later. O. Svendsen added a third just before the break, and by then the match was effectively over as a contest.
E. Ogude completed the scoring in the fifty-third minute, though at that stage the result was beyond doubt. What struck me watching was how Nykøbing moved the ball between the lines, something that doesn't always show up on a results sheet. They didn't need to force it, and that's often the mark of a side that knows what it's doing.
The table now puts Nykøbing level on points with whoever leads after their next fixture, though they sit first on goal difference. Six games played, four wins, two draws, no losses — 14 points. B 93 remain sixth with 8 points from six matches, two defeats already in the bag.
Looking at recent form, Nykøbing have been difficult to break down. They beat Skive 3-2 on Sunday, then came back to see off B 93 2-0. Before that, a 2-2 draw with Fremad Amager and a 3-1 win over Sundby. Consistency, if you want to call it that, rather than brilliance.
B 93's run has been less convincing. A 1-2 loss to Roskilde on Saturday followed a 2-0 defeat here, and before that a 3-1 win against FA 2000. They were solid enough against Næstved and AB København, but the away record is what'll make life awkward going forward.
