Pakš and Honvéd shared the points in the NBI when the match finished 2:2 on Sunday. The visitors took the lead through T. Somogyi before M. Peto equalised for the hosts. J. Szalai then put Honvéd ahead again, only for D. Csontos to strike from the spot in the 90th minute to salvage a result.
And here's the thing about the penalty — it came after Honvéd had dominated the final phase. They created three big chances compared to Pakš's one, and their shot accuracy was twice as good. Seven shots on target against five tells you who pressed more, even if the hosts controlled 54 per cent of possession.
The game opened with a yellow card for K. Papp in the 34th minute, then the first substitution came at the break when J. Galambos was replaced. D. Boldor picked up a booking just after the restart, and by then the pattern was set: Pakš kept possession while Honvéd looked to hit on the counter.
To be fair, the substitutions tell their own story. Pakš brought on E. Silye and A. Zuigeber to steady things, while Honvéd threw on J. Szalai to add pace. M. Peto was withdrawn in the 75th minute, and S. Hangya was shown a second yellow before the final whistle.
Pakš sit ninth with eight points from seven games, while Honvéd are one place lower with six from six. The hosts have lost three and drawn two, but this draw extends their unbeaten run to four matches. The visitors have now gone three games without a win.
