D. Gonzalez opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute, giving Portland an early advantage. To be fair, the visitors had a chance to respond before the break but couldn't find the net, and M. Poon-Angeron picked up a yellow card just before half-time.
The momentum shifted in the second half when C. Dickerson equalised for Westchester in the 66th minute. And here's the thing — Portland made changes almost immediately, bringing on K. Georgallides for Poon-Angeron as the game opened up. M. Kidd came on for Portland in the 72nd minute, adding fresh legs to the midfield.
