Puława claimed a 3:1 victory over Odra Opole in the third round of the I Liga on Saturday. The hosts opened the scoring early through M. Feliks and never looked back, adding two more goals before the interval. Odra Opole pulled one back in the second half but could not find an equaliser.
Feliks struck in the fifth minute to set the tone, and the home side doubled their advantage moments before the break. A. Trubeha found the net on the hour of play, followed by M. Cholewiak five minutes into stoppage time. Odra Opole had no answer until K. Kasolik reduced the deficit in the seventy-eighth minute.
Puława dominated possession with 54 per cent of the ball and registered ten shots on target. Odra Opole managed six attempts on goal but could not convert their better chance. The visitors saw four yellow cards while the hosts received one, with B. Baranski and F. Nascimento among the bookees.
Substitutions came thick and fast after the interval. B. Baranski was withdrawn in the forty-sixth minute, and Odra Opole made three changes between the sixty-sixth and eighty-ninth minutes. Puława brought on M. Feliks in the seventy-ninth minute after his goal, then replaced him with F. Nascimento later.
The result leaves Puława in seventeenth place on six points from six games. Odra Opole remain tenth with nine points from seven matches. The away side had won their most recent outing against Chrobry Głogów but could not extend that momentum here.
