Wien and Essen Share Brita Arena in Goalless Draw
Wien and Rot-Weiss Essen played out a 0:0 draw at the Brita Arena on Saturday afternoon in the third tier of German football. The result leaves both sides searching for consistency as the 3. Liga regular season settles into its rhythm.

Fleckner earned a yellow in the ninetieth minute, and Hubner followed in stoppage time. Eight yellow cards in total, none of them leading to a dismissal, but enough to suggest the game had its moments of friction.
Wien registered seven shots on target compared to Essen's five, though both sides struggled to convert. And here's the thing: a goalless draw doesn't mean much on its own. Wien remain bottom of the table with just one point from three games, having lost four of their last five matches. Essen sit thirteen places above them with four points, though their form has been anything but steady.
The result extends a run of poor results for the home side, who have not won since beating Bayern Munich in July. Essen's only victory came against St Pauli, and they have yet to string together two positive results. For now, both teams are still finding their feet.
