Toronto and Charlotte share points in eight-goal thriller at BMO Field
Toronto and Charlotte played out a 3:3 draw in the Major League Soccer regular season on Wednesday night at BMO Field. The result leaves Toronto tenth in the table with 25 points after 22 games, while Charlotte remain fifth on 35 points. Both sides had come into the fixture with mixed recent form, Toronto drawing two of their last four and Charlotte winning three of their previous five.

Kessler capitalised on the numerical advantage with a goal in the 58th minute, and D. Salloi dragged Toronto back into contention with a strike in the 76th minute before N. Dorsch completed the scoring in the 90th minute.
Charlotte dominated possession at 54 per cent and created more clear-cut opportunities, registering four big chances against Toronto's one. Their shot accuracy was 63 per cent compared to 38 per cent for the hosts, yet Toronto's expected goals figure of 1.84 exceeded Charlotte's 1.41, suggesting they generated higher-quality chances despite fewer of them. The visitors recorded 16 shots to Toronto's 12, with 10 on target against six.
The draw does little to alter either side's position in the standings, though Charlotte's unbeaten run after their defeat to Pachuca earlier in August stretches further. Toronto have now drawn more games than they have lost this season, but a result like this against a side chasing a top-five finish will not satisfy those looking for progression.
What lingered was the 90th-minute equaliser, a moment that felt inevitable given how the game had been shaped. Toronto had nothing left to prove and everything to salvage, and Dorsch delivered when it mattered most.
