Durmaz penalty and late fightback end in stalemate
United Nordic and Löngsley SK shared the points in a 2:2 draw in the Superettan on Saturday. The hosts took the lead through a penalty before the visitors responded, then the game swung again in the second half.
It started with a spot-kick for United Nordic. E. Durmaz converted in the 21st minute and his side went ahead, and here's the thing — they looked comfortable for a while. Löngsley SK found their equaliser through W. Nilsson in the 32nd minute, and the balance shifted immediately after that. A yellow card for Nilsson in the 36th minute suggested the visitors were growing nervous.
The second half brought more movement on the pitch. United Nordic regained the advantage when C. Aphrem scored in the 65th minute, and by then the game had settled into a rhythm both sides understood. But Löngsley SK refused to stay down — they made changes and pushed forward.
F. Ambroz pulled one back for the visitors in the 81st minute, and suddenly the match was wide open again. The hosts made several substitutions in the closing stages, bringing on L. Lindholm, E. Durmaz, and A. Fisic, while the visitors also shuffled their pack. A late yellow for E. Swedi in the 89th minute was the last card of the evening.
The statistics tell a certain story about the contest. Both sides held 50 percent possession, but Löngsley SK registered more attacks with 101 compared to 86. The visitors were more accurate in attack with seven shots on target to four, yet United Nordic's conversion rate of 40 percent meant they made their chances count.
United Nordic remain in sixth place with 35 points from 23 games — nine wins, eight draws and six defeats. Löngsley SK sit 11th on 28 points, a gap of seven points between them now. The hosts had been unbeaten in their last four league matches before this draw ended their run.
