About the player
Amir Belabid came through the FC Reipas Lahti academy, and it did not take him long to force his way into senior football. Playing in the Kakkonen in 2024, he scored around fourteen or fifteen goals in about forty appearances for Reipas.
The step up did not slow him down for long. He featured in the Ykkösliiga in 2025 and was in the Veikkausliiga squad in 2026, reaching the top flight within two years of leaving the youth ranks. Across his league appearances for FC Lahti he has scored a handful of goals, and in July 2026 the club extended his contract through to the end of 2028.
Belabid has also been capped by Finland at under-19 level. He plays as a forward, right-footed, and has been used in different attacking roles, described at times as a left winger and at others as a centre-forward.
