Ayumu Yokoyama

Yokoyama's move to Birmingham City in August 2024 was unheralded, but the season ended with a League One title and promotion to the Championship. He found a different rhythm in the cup competitions, scoring four times across the FA Cup, EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.

He joined Matsumoto Yamaga in 2021 and scored 11 goals in 45 league appearances across the J2 and J3 tiers, then moved to Sagan Tosu in 2023, adding five goals in 41 appearances. That form earned him the J.League Young Player of the Month award in July 2024, shortly before his transfer abroad.

January 2025 brought a loan to Jong Genk in Belgium's Challenger Pro League, where he scored once in nine games. KRC Genk made the move permanent that July, signing him outright from Birmingham. He has split his time between the first team and the reserves: two goals in twelve Belgian Pro League appearances for Genk, and two more in thirteen outings for Jong Genk in the 2025–26 season.

At youth international level, Yokoyama has represented Japan at both U19 and U20, scoring twice in four caps for the U19s — including goals in a friendly and at the Toulon Tournament — and featuring three times for the U20s at the AFC U20 Asian Cup without scoring. He has yet to add a senior cap to that record.
