Cristhoffer Ignacio Mesías Sepúlveda

Cristhoffer Mesías spent his entire development in the Cobresal academy. He did not become a regular immediately, needing until 2021 to nail down a starting spot in midfield, but once he did, he stayed there — his time at the club stretched past 150 appearances.

The high point came in 2023, when Cobresal led the Chilean championship for a stretch before Colo-Colo eventually overtook them and took the title. Mesías finished his Cobresal career without a major trophy or individual award to his name, but he had turned into one of the club's fixtures in that period.

His exit was not the ending he wanted. When his contract ran out at the end of 2025, talks over a renewal broke down over money, and Mesías later said the departure felt abrupt, adding that he did not feel sufficiently valued financially and never got the chance to say a proper goodbye to the supporters. He left as a free agent and, in January 2026, signed for Universidad de Concepción — only the second club of his career.

Mesías has not featured for Chile's senior national team, though he has said he would like to earn a call-up. He is left-footed.
