Daniel Gutierrez

Daniel Gutierrez's first appearance in Liga MX came about during the Guard1anes 2020 tournament in a match against León.

He had joined Morelia's academy and made his senior bow in July 2018 in a Copa MX tie against Alebrijes de Oaxaca. Then the club itself disappeared. When Morelia was dissolved in 2020 and its place in the league passed to a newly formed side, Mazatlán FC, Gutierrez was among the players who made the move.

The early years in Mazatlán brought little playing time; he sat as the squad's third-choice goalkeeper while others took the gloves. The breakthrough came later, in the Apertura 2025 tournament, when he established himself as the starter and played all 17 league matches. By then he had already had a hand in the club's best run in the Leagues Cup, helping Mazatlán reach the 2024 quarter-finals with performances against Cruz Azul and Nashville before the team went out on penalties to Philadelphia Union.

Puebla moved for him in December 2025, paying a fee reported between one and 1.5 million dollars and signing him to a three-year contract with an option for a fourth. The early signs in his new colours have been positive: across the opening rounds of the Clausura 2026 he conceded only three goals and kept two clean sheets.
