Daniel Nnodim

Daniel Nnodim did it in July 2026, in the ÖFB-Cup against Wiener Sport-Club, in a 5:0 win that gave him his first senior minutes for FK Austria Wien. His Bundesliga debut came a month later, on 23 August 2026 against TSV Hartberg, and he scored in a 2:0 victory — a first professional goal in a first league appearance. The Austrian Bundesliga handed him its Debüt Award for those opening matches.

The route there ran entirely through Vienna. He started at SK Rapid Wien, spent four years at SC Team Wiener Linien, and joined the Austria Wien academy in February 2020, working up through every youth level in the club. In 2024/25 he won the ÖFB-Jugendliga U18 title with the U18 side.

From 2024 he was playing Regionalliga football with Austria Wien II, the Young Violets, and was part of the squad that went up to the 2. Liga at the end of the 2024/25 season — a step that put him a division closer to the first team he would join the following summer.

The club moved quickly once he had played. In August 2026, days either side of the Hartberg match, Nnodim signed a contract extension keeping him at Austria Wien until 2030. He has spent his whole development at three clubs in the city where he was born.
