David Vazquez

Twice during the 2023 season, David Vazquez settled a match with a goal deep into stoppage time — first a 92nd-minute winner against Chicago Fire II, then a late decider against New York Red Bulls II. Both goals earned him the "Rising Star of the Matchday" award in MLS Next Pro.

Vazquez started out at Total Futbol Academy in Los Angeles before Philadelphia Union brought him into their academy in 2021. He made his debut for Philadelphia Union II a year later and went on to make 57 appearances for the side between 2022 and 2025, scoring 10 goals. In 2024 he signed a professional contract with the first team as a Homegrown Player, and he made his senior debut in the U.S. Open Cup on 8 May 2025.

On 28 July 2025, he moved to San Diego on loan with an option to buy, playing four matches before the club exercised that option in December for a guaranteed fee of $250,000, plus up to a further $250,000 in incentives. Vazquez scored three goals in ten appearances for San Diego in the 2026 season, including against Vancouver, Austin and Puebla.

He struck from a set piece against Germany at the 2023 Under-17 World Cup, part of a run that yielded one goal in 17 caps for the United States Under-17s. Stepping up to the Under-20s, he scored three goals in five matches and finished as top scorer of the 2024 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.
