About the player
Adiele arrived at Utrecht in February 2025 from West Ham United, in a permanent deal reported to have involved a buyout of the contract he had signed with the London club only the previous July. The transfer fee itself was not disclosed. Before the move he had spent the 2024–25 season with West Ham's under-21 side, playing in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy rather than the first team.
The switch to the Eredivisie came quickly after his contract situation at West Ham was resolved, and Adiele made his professional debut for Utrecht the same month he signed. It marked his first senior football at club level, a jump from academy football in England straight into a first-team Eredivisie appearance.
Adiele has represented England at youth level, with caps for both the under-17s and the under-18s. He is of Nigerian descent and remains eligible to play for Nigeria, though he has not featured for their national side.
