Emil Patrik Engqvist

Emil Engqvist began his career at his local club, FC Gute, where he played from 2016 to 2018, making 45 appearances and scoring seven goals. A free transfer took him to Sandvikens IF in February 2019, and over his first spell there he added 50 appearances and three goals. In January 2021 he moved on again, also without a fee, to Östers IF, where he spent two seasons in the Superettan, appearing 42 times and scoring once.

Engqvist returned to Sandvikens IF in February 2023, once more on a free transfer. That spell brought the clearest highlight of his career so far: the club won the Ettan Norra title in 2023, a result that secured promotion to the Superettan.

His contract with Sandvikens IF ran out at the end of last year, and in January 2026 Engqvist signed for a new club on a free transfer, the same pattern of free moves that has defined every step of his career to date. He has yet to be capped by Sweden's senior national team.
