Frederik Thykær Rieper

Frederik Thykær Rieper grew up in the shadow of a familiar name — his father, Marc Rieper, played for Denmark. The son's route into the professional game took a longer detour, through youth spells at ASA Fodbold, AGF and Vejle Boldklub without a senior appearance at either, before he settled at IF Lyseng in 2018.

From there his path crossed the Atlantic. Rieper paused his Danish career to play college soccer for Hofstra Pride in the United States, appearing 19 times and scoring five goals in the 2019 season before the pandemic sent him back to Denmark, where he rejoined IF Lyseng for 2020–21.

A move to Aarhus Fremad followed, and by January 2024 his form had earned him a switch to Silkeborg IF, a transfer built around a compensation clause in his contract rather than a fixed fee — described at the time as Aarhus Fremad's best sale in two decades. His run of first-team football in Silkeborg's Superliga squad was brief, five or six appearances before the club moved on.

In May 2024, Rieper joined FC Fredericia on a free transfer, signing until 2027. The switch paid off within a year: he was part of the side that secured promotion to the Danish Superliga in the 2024–25 season, the first time in the club's history it had reached the top flight.
