Filipe Miguel Barros Soares

Filipe Soares came through Benfica's academy. He reached two Greek Cup finals with the club, in 2022 and 2023, though PAOK came away empty-handed on both occasions, beaten by Panathinaikos and then AEK. First-team opportunities in Thessaloniki proved harder to come by than at Moreirense, and PAOK sent him back to Portugal on loan twice in the space of a year, first to Famalicão and then to Farense, where he featured regularly across the second half of that spell.

A transfer to PAOK in 2022 took him abroad for the first time.

Soares signed for Nacional da Madeira in July 2025 on a two-year contract, taking the number 22 shirt. He has made 18 league appearances for the club and scored once.

At youth level, Soares represented Portugal from under-15 through under-21, and was part of the side that finished runner-up at the 2021 European Under-21 Championship. He has not been called up to the senior national team.
